Yarn Varieties: Single, 2-Ply, 3-Ply, and More
Modern yarns come in three main types: single-ply (often called singles), 2-ply, and 3-ply. Additionally, there are various other constructions like wrapped, cabled, or chained yarns.
There several type of yarn we used in our products.
Wool Yarn:
Ideal for hats, wool yarn regulates heat, keeping you comfortably warm without overheating. It also wicks away moisture during physical activities.
Mohair Yarn:
Soft and luxurious, Mohair yarn, often called ‘diamond yarn,’ is an exclusive choice for a warm and cozy hat.
Cotton Yarn:
Versatile and budget-friendly, cotton yarn with its soft surface and various colors is great for hats. It’s thin, making it perfect for autumn hats, though not the warmest option.
Alpaca Yarn:
Durable and warm, alpaca yarn creates long-lasting hats. Resembling sheep wool, it ensures a cozy and enduring hat for chilly days.
● Adult Beanie: Typically, 100g of most yarn weights is sufficient. Depending on stitch and cuff size, you might even have yarn left for a pom-pom. For fuller pom-poms, consider an extra ball.
● Child’s Hat: A 50g ball is usually ample for a baby or child’s hat, with an extra ball often needed for the pom-pom.
Scarves:Scarves vary in width and length, making estimates tricky. a minimum of 200g is needed for a double-wrap scarf. Ribbed or textured stitches like moss or seed stitch may require more yarn than flatter stitches
